Moving to Colorado, what is the pretties location in Co?

I am moving to Colorado. I will be working for the department of Corrections. Before I choose a facility I need to make sure I choose the correct location for myself. I have drove through there twice through Pueblo, Colorado City and Denver. I dont recall any of it being very pretty. Alot of people say that Colorado is very pretty country. So where can I move to within Colorado that is pretty with pine trees tall mountains? That the cost of Real Estate is not sky high. I know that Pueblo and Colorado City are in my budget for houses bot getting towards Aspen is really high. Anyone know of any good places close to a State Prison? And any tips about living in CO? How do you like it there? Are the people friendy? What is the state sales tax there? Thanks for everyone's future answers!!!!!!!

For a while I lived in Winter Park Colorado. It's a small but beautiful ski town about a half hour west of Denver. Real estate is still reasonable there but when I left it was definetely up and coming. This means buy property there today, and appreciation will likely soar over the next 10-15 years. Like I said, its small town living, but you're only half hour away from big cities like Denver and Colorado Springs. If being surrounded by pine trees and tall mountains is what you're looking for, definetely check this town out. When people say Colorado is a beautiful country, they had places like this in mind.
